Challengers McCarthy, Young, Endorse Wolfskill for State Rep in May Runoff

Two former challengers have endorsed businesswoman Jill Wolfskill in the race to determine the next legislator: Dan McCarthy and Marc Young.

“Jill is a true conservative who will serve us well in Austin,” said former candidate Dan McCarthy. “She has the courage, convictions, and experience to help us win important victories in the legislature.”

“I’ve told all my supporters that I’ll be voting for Jill, and I hope they do too,” said former candidate Marc Young. “She will be an principled leader, and I look forward to working with her as our next State Rep.”

Candidate Wolfskill said, “It’s an honor to have the support of these leaders, and I intend to build on this support, and keep moving ahead for our conservative values.”

Wolfskill is currently a candidate for two concurrent elections in House District 13. In addition to the May 22 runoff, a special election is underway to fill the vacancy left by former Representative Leighton Schubert who resigned in February. Governor Abbott has called a May 5 special election to fill the remainder of the unexpired term. The District includes the counties of Austin, Burleson, Colorado, Fayette, Grimes, Lavaca, and Washington.

Wolfskill has also been endorsed by Texas Right to Life, Texans for Vaccine Choice, Texas Values, Conservative Republicans of Texas, Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom, and the twelve conservative Texas House members who make up the Texas Freedom Caucus. Wolfskill and her husband Joe founded James Industries over 35 years ago, working with industrial and energy companies throughout the region.
